Types of JEE Main Exams

The JEE Main 2025 consists of three papers:

  1. Paper 1 (BTech/BE):
    • 75 MCQs (300 marks).
    • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

  2. Paper 2A (BArch):
    • 77 Questions (400 marks).
    • Includes an offline drawing section.

  3. Paper 2B (BPlan):
    • 100 MCQs (400 marks).
    • Conducted entirely online.

Educational Qualification

Must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination conducted by a recognized board/institution.

Year of Passing

Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2023, appearing in 2024, or will appear in 2025 are eligible.

Subjects Required

For B.E./B.Tech: Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject.

For B.Arch: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

For B.Plan: Mathematics is mandatory.

Percentage of Marks

General category: Minimum 75% marks in Class 12 or top 20 percentile of the respective board.

SC/ST category: Minimum 65% marks.

Age Limit

No age limit for JEE Main.

Number of Attempts

Maximum of three consecutive years after completing Class 12.


JEE Advanced 2025:

Candidates must meet specific requirements to appear for JEE Advanced 2025:
